Happy New Year 2010: updates
Happy New Year!
Updates:
Modern Arnis website entering into it's final stages of dev. This site will feature JomSocial as the social networking component, Kunena Forum and I am playing with multi-lingual capability with the M17 system instead of JoomFish. JoomFish is not easy and requires a lot of massaging to get work. The M17 paradigm seems to be an easier way to present multiple languages on the site and when coupled with Google's badass page translation capabilities, can present me with a good system that won't take too long to develop.
I've decided to delete certain components that I played with that are just taking up space on this server: AIRTO SEF, JomSocial, Agoura Forum, JM SiteMaps. I've updated to the latest version of ProjectFork, a great time management system that sports the best template ever. I swear...Joomlapraise did the Joomla community a great turn solely by releasing their clean and easy to use templates for the Joomla admin panel and for ProjectFork. It sure makes work easier if you can see what you're working on in the best way possible.
I may do away with the design.ramonlazo.net blog and replace it with THIS website. I think that having just one site will do.
Wix for Flash
Just wanted to turn people on to a great new website: www.wix.com
Wix lets you create Flash objects online for FREE (basic/standard membership). The main purpose seems to be to allow users to create a Flash style website which THEY host on their servers. I am interested in it for the potential in creating standalone Flash objects for instructional use. I don't know what the potential for this type of development is yet -- I've just signed on and am playing with it but as an instructional designer, the ability to create Flash objects quickly and with an absolute minimum in resources is terrific! I don't like Flash programming and frankly consider this technology fast becoming passe. Video and true rapid development tools like the Wix site is the future. ActionScript gives us all a headache and Wix is hopefully the solution. I'll blog about what I find.
